讲座人介绍 Xiuzhen Cheng received her MS and PhD degrees in computer science from the University of Minnesota -- Twin Cities, in 2000 and 2002, respectively. She is a professor at the Department of Computer Science, The George Washington University, Washington DC. Her current research interests focus on privacy-aware computing, wireless and mobile security, smart cyber-physical systems, mobile handset networking systems (mobile health and safety), and algorithm design and analysis. She is the founder and steering committee chair of the International Conference on Wireless Algorithms, Systems, and Applications (WASA, launched in 2006).  She has served on the editorial boards of several technical journals (e.g. IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, IEEE Wireless Communications) and the technical program committees of various professional conferences/workshops (e.g. ACM Mobihoc, ACM Mobisys, IEEE INFOCOM, IEEE ICDCS, IEEE ICC, IEEE/ACM IWQoS). She also has chaired several international conferences (e.g. ACM Mobihoc, IEEE CNS). Xiuzhen worked as a program director for the US National Science Foundation (NSF) from April to October in 2006 (full time), and from April 2008 to May 2010 (part time). She published more than 200 peer-reviewed papers. She is a Fellow of IEEE.

讲座内容 Blockchain and AI are two hot topics nowadays. With the recent development of Blockchain 3.0, its application has been extended to the field of IoT systems. On the other hand, the advances of machine learning, particularly deep learning, have paved the way of making IoT systems self-evolve to become more and more intelligent. In this talk, I will present our exploratory work toward securing IoT systems via blockchain and machine learning technologies. Particularly, I will introduce a layered architecture that exploits these advanced technologies to enhance IoT security and summarize our recent results in securing smart home IoT systems. Open research issues will also be discussed.
