讲座人介绍 Dr. Rong Qu is an Associated Professor at the School of Computer Science, University of Nottingham. She received her PhD in Computer Science from the University of Nottingham in 2002, and BSc in Computer Science and Its Applications from XiDian University in 1996. Dr. Qu’s main research interests include the modelling and optimisation algorithms for scheduling and optimisation algorithms in transport scheduling in logistics, personnel scheduling, telecommunication network routing, portfolio optimisation, and timetabling problems, etc. by using evolutionary algorithms, mathematical programming, constraint programming in operational research and artificial intelligence, and hybridisations of these techniques.
Dr. Qu has published more than 60 peer-refereed papers at international journals since 2000. Among these several have been awarded the Top Cited Paper at leading Operational Research journals (i.e. 5 year top cited paper at EJOR, top 0.1% or top 1% cited papers by ISI Essential Science Indicators). She has co-authored the book “Hyper-heuristics: theory and applications”. She has been the program chair of several symposium and special sessions on automatic algorithm design at IEEE flagship events. She is a guest editor of special issues at IEEE Computational Intelligence Magazine and Journal of Scheduling. She is the vice-chair of Task Committee of Intelligence Systems and Applications, and Task Force of Hyper-heuristics at IEEE Computational Intelligence Society, and elected as an IEEE Senior Member since 2012. She is an associated editor at IEEE Computational Intelligence Magazine since 2016. Dr. Qu was elected by the "China 1000 Elites Plan" in 2013, and appointed as a honoured professor at Xidian University 2013-2018.
讲座内容 Theory and modelling present the fundamental step towards solving complex real world problems in management, organisation and business sectors, including the personnel scheduling, transport logistic scheduling, timetabling, network routing and portfolio optimisation problems, etc. The first part of the seminar presents some recent research developments on the theory of hyper-heuristics, based on which the problem of automatic algorithm design is modelled as a General Combinatorial Optimisation Problem. Based on the fundamental analysis on the landscape of hyper-heuristics, interesting observations have been obtained, motivating more future research on the theoretical aspect of automatic algorithm design. In the second part of the seminar, an overview on an ongoing study on the modelling of new framework for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs) cyber security is presented. Based on the new framework, a new dataset of CAV cyber attacks is established. Preliminary results using two machine learning techniques have been presented, leading to more future research directions in this newly emerged problem.
