讲座人介绍
Xiu Yin Zhang (S’07-M’10- SM’12) was born in Hubei, China. He received the M.S. degree in electronic engineering from South China University of Technology, Guangzhou, China, in 2006, and the PhD degree in electronic engineering from City University of Hong Kong, in 2009.
From 2001 to 2003, he was with ZTE Corporation, Shenzhen, China. He was a Research Assistant from July 2006 to June 2007 and a Research Fellow from September 2009 to February 2010 with the City University of Hong Kong. He is currently a full professor, also the vice dean of the School of Electronic and Information Engineering, South China University of Technology. He has authored or coauthored more than 150 internationally referred journal and conference papers including 45 IEEE Transactions papers. His research interests include microwave circuits and antennas, LTCC, wireless power transfer. 
Dr. Zhang has served as a Technical Program Committee (TPC) member and session organizer/chair for a number of conferences. He has been an associate editor for IEEE Access and a regular reviewer of several international journals including 7 IEEE Transactions and 2 IEEE Letters. He was a recipient of the Young Scholar of the Changjiang Scholars Program of Chinese Ministry of Education, the Top-notch Young Professionals of National Program of China, the National Science Foundation for Outstanding Young Scholars of China. He was also a recipient of the Scientific and Technological Award (First Honor). He was the supervisor of several conference best paper award winners. He is a Fellow of IET. 
 
讲座内容 Multi-band base-station antenna arrays are widely deployed in mobile communications. The 5G/4G/3G/2G antennas should be accomodulated. Therefore, the size and interference among antennas operating at different bands are problematic issues. Filtering antennas are good choices to solve this problem. At microwave band, filtering antennas can reduce the interference among multi-band antennas with close spacing, in which filters are not able to do it. This talk introduces the collaborative design of antennas and their application to multi-band base stations. Firstly, a series of single-/ dual-band, signle-/dual-polarized filtering antenna elements are proposed without extra filtering circuits. The in-band radiation antenna performance is remained unchanged as compared to the non-filtering antennas. Secondly, two miniaturized dual-band dual-polarized arrays using filtering antenna elements for industrial base-staion applications are presented. Small array size is realized with high isolation between antennas of different systems. Also, the radiation responses are rarely affected.
