讲座人介绍 李秉团,美国Louisville大学数学系教授,现任“Discrete and Continuous Dynamical Systems”杂志编委。长期从事微分方程、生物数学模型的研究工作。1998年于美国亚利桑那州立大学(Arizona State University)获应用数学博士学位。1999年至2001年分别在美国明尼苏达大学(University of Minnesota)、美国犹他大学(University of Utah)从事博士后研究工作。2001年至今在美国路易斯维尔大学(University of Louisville)数学系工作,并分别于2004年、2009年晋升为副教授、教授。已在“SIAM J. Appl. Math.”、“J. Math. Biol.”、“J. Differential Equations”、“Nonlinearity”、“Math. Biosci. Eng.”、“Bull. Math. Biol.”、“Math. Biosci.”、“Discrete Contin. Dyn. Syst.”等国际知名期刊上发表学术论文50多篇。
讲座内容 报告摘要:One goal of ecology is to understand species persistence and spread in an environment.  Species expand their geographical ranges as they cross barriers or as the climate changes. As species arrive at new habitats, they have to cope with a new physical environment, as well as with other species that they encounter. In this talk, I present spatial population models describing spread of invasive species in a shifting habitat driven by climate change, and models in a habit where a competitor is still in the process of expanding its spatial range. The mathematical treatments of the models involve rigorously analyzing reaction-diffusion equations and integro-difference equations. The analytical framework focuses on the development of spatial waves on moving intervals. I demonstrate the possibility for a species to establish a single wave spreading with distinct speeds in opposite directions, and the possibility for a species to develop two separate waves propagating with different invasion speeds.
