Houbing Song(宋厚冰博士) received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA, in August 2012.In 2017, he joined the Department of Electrical, Computer, Software, and Systems Engineering, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, FL, where he is currently an Assistant Professor and the Director of the Security and Optimization for Networked Globe Laboratory (SONG Lab, www.SONGLab.us ). He served on the faculty of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, West Virginia University, Montgomery, WV, and as the Founding Director of West Virginia Center of Excellence for Cyber-Physical Systems sponsored by West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission, from 2012 to 2017. In 2007 he was an Engineering Research Associate with the Texas A&M Transportation Institute. He is the editor of four books, including Smart Cities: Foundations, Principles and Applications, Hoboken, NJ: Wiley, 2017, Security and Privacy in Cyber-Physical Systems: Foundations, Principles and Applications, Chichester, UK: Wiley-IEEE Press, 2017, Cyber-Physical Systems: Foundations, Principles and Applications, Boston, MA: Academic Press, 2016, and Industrial Internet of Things: Cybermanufacturing Systems, Cham, Switzerland: Springer, 2017.  He is the author of more than 100 articles. His research interests include cyber-physical systems, internet of things, edge computing, big data analytics, connected vehicle, and wireless communications and networking. 
Dr. Song is a senior member of IEEE and a member of ACM. Dr. Song was the very first recipient of the Golden Bear Scholar Award, the highest faculty research award at West Virginia University Institute of Technology (WVU Tech), in 2016. 
 
讲座内容 Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) are engineered systems that integrate cyber components (sensing, computation, control and networking) into physical objects and infrastructure to support real-time, guaranteed performance in safety-critical applications. However, a CPS-enabled vision of the future is only possible if we can first assure security and safety. My research activities have been focused on the design and verification of CPS, and cybersecurity. In this talk, first I will talk about 2 representative projects. Next I will talk about my future research vision in the areas of CPS and cybersecurity. I will conclude my talk with identifying potential collaboration opportunities.
