Coming to Xi'an is easy, as it is one of the most important and convenient transportation hubs in central and western China. Frequent flights, trains and long-distance buses connect the city with other major cities all around China and the globe.
Xi'an Xianyang International Airport (IATA: XIY; ICAO: ZLXY) is located in Dizhang, around 36km northwest of Xi'an city and approximately 18km northeast of Xianyang. Ranked as the fourth most frequented airport in China, the airport is home to 68 domestic daily flights from almost every major Chinese destination. In addition, over 25 international airlines are established at the airport, which makes Xi'an the city with most international connections in Western China. Please see the airport's official website for the complete list of airlines operating in the area.
Taxis and the airport bus can be used to reach the conference venue from the airport. A direct taxi ride usually takes around 50 minutes, and it will cost about ¥150. Alternatively, a cheaper option is to take the airport bus to the inner city first (airport bus route 6 to Xi'an Hotel), and then take a local bus (route 224) or a taxi to the conference venue.
The high speed train is available at Xi'an North Station from and to a number of major cities in China, including Luoyang, Zhengzhou, Wuhan, Shijiazhuang, Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Changsha, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Taxis and the metro system can be used to get to the conference venue from Xi'an North Station. A direct taxi ride would take about 45 minutes without traffic and cost about ¥60. Alternatively, one can take the metro line 2 to "Qujiang Int'l Convention & Exhibition" and then get on the local bus route 526 heading the conference venue.
The Xi'an Railway Station is located in the city, just outside the northeast ancient city wall. From here, there are plenty of trains transporting passengers to and from most of the major cities inside China. The conference venue is around 20 minutes drive from Xi'an Railway Station, and the taxi fare should be under ¥30. Local bus route 500 can also get you from the station to the venue.
